The Technical Course Developer position facilitates the design and delivery of role-based self-paced, web-based, virtual, blended, and instructor led courseware for ACI’s strategic products and processes. Participates collaboratively with the Technical Training Instructor and cross-functional subject matter experts to create new high-technology, in-depth course designs and course modules. Maintains existing course modules and analysis of new modules needed to meet business requirements. Contributes as a team member with fellow instructional designers within the department on large, multifaceted curriculum deliverables under the direction of a lead designer. Designs hands-on learner labs and exercises along with supporting technology requirements to demonstrate student comprehension of course objectives. Uses data from a variety of sources to analyze needs and propose sound high-technology, in-depth training solutions. Contributes to training gap analysis and curriculum planning within the target product skillset. Participates in delivery methodology discussions and decisions. Evaluates effectiveness of high-technology learning programs. Reviews department training programs for effectiveness and contributes to future actions to improve and increase training content quality, effectiveness, presentation, and audience adoption.

Travel required including international and some weekends as required



  • Understand and Adhere to all Corporate Policies to include but not limited to ACI Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
  • Contributes to projects for the training staff and ensures complete and on-time deliverables around curriculum requirements, learning competencies, and content updates.
  • Contributes to the design and delivery of high-technology, in-depth training programs which may be self-paced, web-based, virtual, blended, and/or in-person instructor led courses related to content with input from subject matter experts.
  • Develops Subject-Matter-Expert-level knowledge on assigned content of at least one strategic ACI product and acts as a Subject Matter Expert within Learning Services and across ACI.
  • Quantitatively evaluates effectiveness of eLearning programs and their alignment with the corporate vision, mission and values, as well as role-based curriculum plans.
  • Works with leaders across departments to analyze internal training requirements, designs and scripts training for SME to conduct and/or record.
  • Builds and enforces best practice standards for all learning modules.
  • Communicates with course participants after courses to identify future needs.
  • Publishes online course modules.
  • Creates comprehensive role-based, high-technology curriculum elements against a curriculum project plan under the leadership of a lead course designer.
  • Works as a team to ensure overall curriculum plan is delivered with quality, consistency, and agility on time.
  • Aids in the implementation of departmental methodologies within Learning Services and in collaboration with other departments to ensure successful deployment and adoption of Learning Services policies and procedures.
  • Contributes ideas to Learning Services leadership to promote innovation and creativity in Learning Services methodologies.
  • Develops and demonstrates deep ACI product knowledge on assigned content and acts as a department SME on one (or more) strategic ACI product.
  • Creates a network of ACI contacts as key stakeholders and contributors, and exercises relationships to enable Learning Services goal attainment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Thorough knowledge of the Captivate and Articulate software packages.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or equivalent high-technology or adult learning practice experience required.
  • Experience in a high-technology environment, including operating systems such as Windows and Linux, and databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, is preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in design, development, implementation and assessment of high-technology course development and training delivery or equivalent high-technology experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technology projects design on time.
  • Experience writing content for both classroom and interactive web applications such as eLearning is preferred, or equivalent skill creating technical manuals and materials.
  • Knowledge of the Captivate and Articulate software packages is preferred.
  • Written and verbal English language fluency.
